Nurtured by the proud traditions of Motown, techno and legendary rock influences, Detroit natives OTTO VECTOR challenge and blur the prototypical pop/rock boundaries with their uniquely accessible synth-rock musical style. Formed in 2002 to explore the universe of electronic songwriting, Mike “Sonic” Glaser and Andrew “Ginseng” Lemanek experimented with technology and pop music to create their personal brand of sound. With a desire to both expand their sonic palette and to perform as a live band, the duo recruited fellow musicians William Daviddi, Dan Lee, vocalist Renee’ Miller, and a never-ending stream of gadgets and electronic devices. OttO Vector was LIVE!
Hitting their hometown stages continually since 2004, OttO Vector has performed coast-to-coast…and beyond. The band has played Warped Tour in Detroit, made multiple appearances at Toronto’s NorthByNorthEast (NXNE), and was a three-time TOP 5 National Finalist in mtvU’s Best Music on Campus. OttO Vector’s songs were featured on the 2010 season of MTV’s The Challenge: Fresh Meat II, and their “Charlie Mix” video was nominated for tunelab™ 2011 Music Video of the Year in 2011. OttO Vector’s “EP 604” was nominated for Outstanding Electronic/Dance Recording in the 2013 Detroit Music Awards, won Best Pop Band, Best Video (“Charlie Mix”) and Band of the Year at 2013’s Indie Music Channel Awards LA, and was named BEST INDIE BAND OF THE YEAR by the Los Angeles Times (2013).
OttO Vector has self-released the albums No. 9 North (2013), Kernel 2: Dimitri’s Revenge OST (2013), EP 604 (2011), 14 North Cedgwick (2010), 5 Bits To Byte (2007), 3-D Odyssey (2006) and dv2.5 (2004), and was featured on FEED (The Movie Soundtrack) (2006).
